Dell is currently produces the best and most diverse laptops in the world, you can find any laptop you want specific to your field in the Dell laptops product line. So let’s meet Dell laptops! Latitude, XPS, Inspiron, Vostro, Precision, which one is right for you?
First of all, when buying a new laptop, you should consider a number of points:
1. Screen size: You may think this is a minor point, but as RAM and storage you can not change the screen size later, so it is better to choose the right one for your work at the first place, screen sizes range from 11.6 inches to 17.3 inches.
2. Screen quality: Of course, you sit in front of your laptop screen for hours every day, so it is better to have a natural quality that does not hurt your eyes. Then you have to decide whether you want a screen that supports touchscreen or not. and the screen resolution should be HD, Full HD, or 2K and 4K?
3. Processor: Then you need to choose a processor (CPU) for your laptop, here we need to consider the clock speed, cache and the number of cores, and whether we choose Intel or AMD?
Intel: The names of Intel processors begin with a brand name and the most common brands are: Intel Core, Intel Pentium, Intel Celeron. The Intel Core brand includes better performance and features, while Pentium and Celeron are for the consumers with limited budgets and contains fewer features. We also have Intel Xeon, which are scalable processors and are for the people who need very high performance and speed and is used for servers and workstations.
Processor Modifier: In the Intel Core brand we have processor modifier that are i3, i5, i7, i9 and the higher brand modifier means a higher level of performance and sometimes contains additional features such as: Intel Hyper-Threading Technology. But Intel Pentium and Intel Celeron processors do not use this naming convention.
Generation Indicator: After the brand and brand modifier comes the processor’s generation indicator. In a four-digit processor number, the first digit typically represents the generation. higher number means newer generation. but the 10th and 11th generations are slightly different and the model will be 5 digits. in here the first and second digits are the processor generation. so 8800 is The 8th generation and 9800 is 9th generation, 11800 is the 11th generation and the 10800 is the 10th generation. In the 10th and 11th generations, if the model has the letter G, it means that the processor will include newer graphics technology. Generation 11 is the latest generation of Intel processors.
And in the Pentium series, we have Silver and Gold. in Silver, we have a prefix letter and four digits but in Gold, we have four digits and a suffix letter. The Gold type has better performance and the Silver type is cheaper.
We also have two different formats in the Celeron series, one with three numbers without a prefix and suffix, the other with four numbers followed by a suffix.
SKU Number Digits: On most Intel processors, the last three digits are the SKU number, which is a unique number that identifies the brand, type, color, and size of a product. Although the higher the number means more features, but SKU numbers are not recommended for comparison across different generations or product lines.
Product Line Suffix: Suffix is another point used to identify the capabilities of a processor and each has a different meaning.
G1-G7 is the graphics level (processors with new integrated graphics technology only).
E stands for embedded and this processor is used for different devices.
F means it requires discrete graphics, discrete graphics means a processor with a separate GPU.
G means includes discrete graphics on package
H is for High performance optimized for mobile
HK is for High performance optimized for mobile, unlocked
HQ is for High performance optimized for mobile, quad core
K means unlocked.
S stands for a special edition.
T is for Power-optimized lifestyle
U means Mobile power efficient
Y means Mobile extremely low power
X/XE means Unlocked, High End
B is Ball Grid Array (BGA)

AMD: AMD processors generally have two brands, the Ryzen and the A series. The A series consists of three sub-families and can be used for everyday use such as browsing the Internet, watching videos, text processors and other normal activities.
Processor Brand & Family: The first digit is the processor family which is often 3, 5, 7, or 9 For the Ryzen family, they are similar to Core i Intel Family, consisting of four series: Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5, Ryzen 7, Ryzen 9 and we can also say that their usability are similar to Core i 3, 5, 7 and 9 but with slightly lower performance. We also have Ryzen Threadrippers, a high-end, multi-core processor, designed to run applications that involve a lot of computations that a conventional processor is not capable to run.
Processor generation: The second number is the generation of the processor and the higher the number means the higher generation. Generation 5 is the latest generation of AMD processors.
Processor performance: The third number is the performance indicator for the processor and the higher the number means the more powerful processor.
SKU Number Digits: SKU number is a unique number that identifies the brand, type, color, and size of a product. Although the higher the number means more features, but SKU numbers are not recommended for comparison across different generations or product lines.
Product Line Suffix: Suffix is another point used to identify the capabilities of a processor and each has a different meaning.
G means that the Ryzen processor has the AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics card.
X means high performance
F means it requires discrete graphics, discrete graphics means a processor with a separate GPU.
G means includes discrete graphics on package.
U means very low power.
HK means high performance
No Suffix means the Ryzen processor is a desktop processor.
4. RAM: Your RAM determines how many applications you can run at the same time.
4-8 GB RAM: For normal daily use such as browsing the Internet, playing videos and using office applications.
8-16 GB RAM: For large databases, video and photo editing applications.
At least 16GB of RAM: For an impressive level of multitasking, to run 3D applications and high-end games.
5. Storage: is used to store your files, you must choose one according to your needs and also consider the type, SSD or HDD or NVME?
HDD: Cheap but slower than the other two types.
SSD: More expensive than HDD but faster.
NVME: Much faster than the other two but also more expensive.
Now let's introduce the Dell laptop family Line: The first point to note is that the best and most powerful laptop is not always the most suitable laptop, so you should choose a laptop according to your work and needs.
