Important Update from Microsoft – Action Required for Microsoft 365 Customers
Microsoft has announced a major change to how Microsoft 365 subscriptions are handled after expiry — and it’s important all customers are aware.
What’s changing?
Until now, Microsoft 365 subscriptions benefited from a free grace period (typically around 30 days) after expiry, allowing services to continue while renewal was completed.
This free grace period is being removed.
Key dates to know
What happens when your Microsoft 365 subscription expires?
At the end of the subscription term, customers must choose one of the following options:
Renew the subscription : No service interruption
Cancel at end of term : Services stop immediately on the expiry date
Extended Service Term (EST) :
Important notice:
Turning auto‑renew OFF alone is no longer enough. If no action is taken, subscriptions may automatically move into paid Extended Service Term (EST).
